At this home in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas, family life is busy and the kitchen is at the heart of it all. We designed and remodeled this kitchen to be both beautiful and smart in a way that has allowed the whole family to come together in the space.

Below, a large informal table allows the family to congregate during meal periods and throughout the day

(Below) A great big chalkboard allows family members the opportunity to communicate even when they are not all together

Below, cubbies for their school-age children keep the kitchen space organized

We even found room for a small arts-and-crafts table for the little ones; when not in use, it stores handily in the adjacent utility area (below)
