Kitchen Cabinets - Questions to Ask When Remodeling

One of the first and most important features to discuss in terms of your new kitchen remodel is the cabinets. Cabinets are as much a reflection of your personality as any other design element in your kitchen. They are very important when it comes to functionality because your cabinets will be used many times each day and they affect your ability to stay organized and move around in your kitchen.

Most people start with the look they want - which color fits your style and decor (there are as many cabinet colors as there are in the rainbow), will you add a glaze or a stain, do you want trim, will you use the cabinet materials to hide your appliances? Once you have nailed down a particular color and style for your cabinets, then you need to determine the functionality and durability. Will you want special cabinets for out-of-the-way spaces (like a Super Susan in a hard-to-reach corner, a lifting utility drawer to bring your heavy mixer up to counter level, inserts for organizing plates or pots and lids in a drawer versus a cabinet. Will you want blu-motion to protect little one's fingers or eliminate the noise of slamming drawers? To help answer some of these questions, please check out the photos below.

At Kitchen Design Concepts, we carry an array of cabinets and the products of several quality manufacturers, including KraftMaid, Kitchen Craft, Crestwood, UltraCraft, Luxe and Shiloh. Which one makes the right product for you? Of course, all of these decisions will affect the price of your cabinet project. If you are in the Dallas area, we would love to discuss your next job with you. Let us know if we can help you navigate these choices...
